Copy Paste into Handsontable

Hello,

When I use handsontable copy paste functionality in Safari browser - it doesnt work pasting from Excel. The same codebase works when used in google chrome. I remember it worked in a previous version of HOT. I am not using HOT 2.0.0

Need your help to fix this.

can you update the code to v5.0.0 and check if the issue still occur?
We have released the version yesterday and it fixes an issue that sounds very familiar.

Are the example pages in 5.0?

I tried those as well and still the same issue

Are you able to replicate the issue at https://docs.handsontable.com/pro/5.0.0/demo-copy-paste.html ?

If so please share a step by step scenario for me to test

Hi Aleksandra,

Yes I am able to replicate the issue at the link above.

Steps to reproduce

  1. I am using Microsoft Excel 2016 in macOS
  2. Select 2 or 3 rows and press command + S (copy shortcut)
    3a) On Safari, place the pointer in handsontable cell and press command + V (Paste). The cell becomes blank but the data doesnt get copied
    3b) on Chrome, pressing command + V(paste) the data gets copied but its merges both rows as single row.

Please help fix this bug.

we have release version 6.1.0 that fixes https://github.com/handsontable/handsontable/issues/5277
