We have found that when using screen reader software for visually impaired users, HOT does not seem to have any tagging that allows the software to read out what is going on in the tables.

I am asking to add the necessary tagging to HOT so it can be navigated non visually with screen reader software.

Thanks for the reply @aleksandra_budnik. The issue you linked is a different issue.

Yes, it is difficult to tab navigate into the tables, but once in the table, screen readers used by visually impaired persons stop working. There needs to be aria tagging added to the source of the table for the screen readers to pick up on and read out where you are in the table, what data is accepted in the cell, how many values are available in drop down, instructions on how to navigate etc…

You’re right - it should be more specific. I added a new request in our Github board at https://github.com/handsontable/handsontable/issues/5596
