Number pad keyboard for cell editing on mobile devices?

I am this close to purchasing HOT pro… There’s one weakness that I can’t see how to fix (at least not easily). My client has a need for editable tables with almost exclusively numeric cells. They will often be in the field using iPads. While I can tell HOT that a cell is numeric and it will validate the cell AFTER user input and check for numbers, when you START editing, IOS always brings up the regular QWERTY keyboard. So you always have to hit the numberpad key to switch it into number mode before you can edit. That’s very tedious when you have a lot of inputting to do.

I see HOT using textareas for editing. Textareas do not support an attribute to force a number keypad like input tags can ( ).

So Is it possible – using a custom editor, perhaps? – to have an editor that uses for editing instead of textarea, so IOS will pop up the most relevant keyboard? The custom editors’ documentation is lacking enough examples for me to figure it out. Is there any other option?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi @larry

I am so sorry for a delay. I thought that my answer has been already sent.

Unfortunately, Handsontable doesn’t support mobile devices. You are able to scroll the table (if added offset settings) and edit some cells but no more than that.
