Would you like to fill the row with data or placeholders? We already have a demo for placeholders https://handsontable.com/docs/8.0.0/demo-pre-populating.html and here https://jsfiddle.net/kj8z014a/1/ is an example with loading default data.

I’d like to fill it with default data.
I did see the fiddle, and it is easy to add with an afterCreateRow hook, just wondered if the feature will be implemented to save me some code.

Currently, that is the recommended scenario for this task. There is no similar functionality to be planned for Q4 of 2020.
