I see migration guide from version 7 to 8.
But migration guide for previous version not available. Could you please shared.

Migrating from 2.1.x to 8.4.0. and getting lot of issues like “ncaught error assertion failed expecting an unsigned number”

Hi @harisalipk

Version 8 brought a lot of changes, and we decided to create a guide. When it comes to the older version, they did not bring so many changes.

Here are the breaking changes for

  1. v3.0.0 - https://handsontable.com/docs/3.0.0/tutorial-release-notes.html and https://handsontable.com/blog/articles/2018/5/handsontable-3-0-0-is-now-available
  2. v4.0.0 - https://handsontable.com/docs/4.0.0/tutorial-release-notes.html and https://handsontable.com/blog/articles/2018/6/handsontable-4-0-0-is-now-available
  3. v5.0.0 - https://handsontable.com/docs/5.0.0/tutorial-release-notes.html and https://handsontable.com/blog/articles/2018/7/handsontable-5.0.0-is-now-available
  4. v6.0.0 - https://handsontable.com/docs/6.0.0/tutorial-release-notes.html and https://handsontable.com/blog/articles/2018/9/handsontable-6.0.0-with-multi-column-sorting

Then v7 also brought some organizational changes where we merged Handsontable CE and
PRO and changed licensing. You can read more about these changes here.

Usually, we recommend updating your software by one major version at a time. You should get fewer errors and compare them with the information in the links that I shared (especially if your code is complex).

You can also contact me at support@handsontable.com. I will do my best to help you with the update.

Thanks! That should help
