Table growing vertically when I sort a column

When I sort a column in my Handsontable it does not add a row, but increases the size of the containing modal. I can keep clicking on the sort and the modal just keeps increasing in size downward.

By way of clarification - it’s expanding downward when I click on the column title, not when I try to filter anything.

Hi @jaime.cabrera

Can you please send a code demo regarding that issue? This way I would be able to further investigate it.

Adrian,

It would be difficult to demo this - I am attempting to use a custom class that extends Handsontable incorporated into a larger app. Are there specifics that I could provide (certain settings or code snippets) that could help?

Hi @jaime.cabrera I was also curious how it works for you. When I was trying to build a simple jQuery modal I was not able to use the filters at all. It seems that you might be using some other settings.

Aleksandra,

We have custom code for filtering - but I have disabled that. The issue is not with the filter, it is with the column heading being a link that will sort the table according to that column. I assume that is a built in feature for Handsontable. Is that not the case?

Yes, the header title (label) when clicked with columnSorting: true sorts the column data. But still, sorting should,d not add rows by default.

It is not adding rows, I confirmed that by inspecting the HTML elements and found no rows being added.

Sorry for the confusion @jaime.cabrera but does it mean that the issue is resolved?

No, @aleksandra_budnik , the issue is not resolved. Even though rows are not being added in the html, the modal is still expanding vertically when that column header is clicked.

If that is still a bug we need to be able to replicate the scenario, see the code or video reproduction. Without those data, it is hard to specify what is causing the issue.

@aleksandra_budnik - is there a way to set up a call to show you the behavior and go over the code?

@aleksandra_budnik - Alternately, I can send you portions of the code (settings, html, etc)

@aleksandra_budnik - I can also provide my license number if you require that.

Hi @jaime.cabrera you do not need to send anything extra. We already got one email from you and the license ID is set. I will send you an email with the details about this case.
